Music Department Awards Celebration

Monday, May 5, 2014 at 7:00pm

It is time to once again celebrate a year full of musical successes and the enjoyment of music-making! On Monday, May 5, 2014, we will be holding our Music Department Awards Celebration beginning with the Awards Presentation at 7:00 p.m. in the Independence High School Auditorium. All family members attending the Awards Presentation are invited to stay and join together in an ice cream celebration of our musicians following the conclusion of the awards portion of the evening.

In order to ensure that we have adequate seating and ice cream delights for everyone, we are requesting that your family RSVP by Wednesday, April 30, 2014

It is our hope that you will join us on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. for the IHS Music Department Spring Concert. We anticipate a wonderful evening of music showcasing the artistic talents of our extraordinary musicians!

Florida Trip 2015

Here is the information for the Music Department Florida Trip in 2015.

Sunday, May 18th from 11:30am-3:00pm.

How about joining us at the Kiwanis Chicken BBQ? It will be held on Sunday, May 18th from 11:30am-3:00pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Farewell to the Field, May 30th

On Friday, May 30th @ 6:00 IHS is hosting our Friday night Farewell to the Field!

This is a family event and a night for the entire community to enjoy.

There will activities for all ages, including:

• Cow Pie Bingo (yes, you read it correctly)! See attached fliers and rules
• $20 investment at a chance to win $2,500 (Tickets can be purchased at any school office or at the Independence Board Office)
• Inflatables
• Food
• A chance to get on the field to kick a goal for soccer, toss a football, play in the band (calling all alumni band members)
• Mini-golf
• Side Boards

Enrichment is part of the Music Booster's Mission

The ongoing mission of the music boosters is to foster and encourage student development in the musical arts. Throughout the year the music boosters raise money to provide funds used to purchase instruments, equipment and uniforms. Booster volunteers provide hospitality for both the IHS and visiting bands at football halftime, and also assist with set design/construction and costume design/creation for the madrigal and drama productions. The Music Boosters also offer a musical enrichment grant for eligible students.
